Big congratulations to Mrs. Thornton's aviation students! They’ve earned their FAA Part 107 Drone License — an incredible accomplishment!

This license allows them to operate drones commercially, opening doors to exciting opportunities in fields like aerial photography, surveying, mapping, inspections, agriculture, and search-and-rescue operations. It’s a professional credential that gives them a real advantage as they pursue careers in aviation and technology.

And they’re not stopping there — these students, along with the rest of the class, are working on a second aviation certification, continuing to build skills that will take them even higher in their careers. The sky’s the limit! 🌟

Students who have earned their drone license
It’s been a busy week for our IT students!

Mrs. Thornton’s Information Technology students have been learning all about computer hardware. This week, they got hands-on experience by tearing down computers, identifying internal components and ports, and then tackling the challenge of reassembling the machines.

Great job to these students for their hard work, teamwork, and problem-solving skills!

We had an amazing day as Mrs. Thornton’s Advanced IT students visited Yost Labs in Portsmouth! Students explored cutting-edge motion tracking and sensor technology and got to see firsthand how this technology is designed, built, and tested in a real-world setting. They also learned how these innovations are used by organizations such as NASA, SpaceX, the U.S. military, DreamWorks Animation, and more.

Thank you to the incredible team at Yost Labs for this inspiring opportunity and for showing our students real-world technology in action!
