The month of October is Ohio School Safety Month. The Ohio Department of Education released information on the theme for this week on 10/16/2023, which is a focus on bullying prevention. On Wednesday, October 18th, we encourage students to participate in "Wear and Share Orange". The purpose of the theme for this day is to unite in kindness and to show support against bullying. 10/17/2023 Announcements Our library will now be available to review and checkout books beginning tomorrow, October 18th. The library will be open daily from 7:45 a.m. to 9:20 a.m. If you are in study hall the first two periods, you still report to the library. Our first two study hall class rosters are small enough that we can use the library for its main purpose. Students who signed up for the Wittenberg University presentation need to report to the media center during lunch time today. There is a meeting for any student interested in participating on the swim team on Wednesday during lunch in Mrs. Johnston’s room. There is an FCA meeting today. A reminder that there is NO SCHOOL this Friday, October 20th. PBIS Award Winners Gift Cards- Allison Payton, Noah Kysor The Junior Class Officers are: President-Jasper Kern Vice President= Hannah Karwatske Secretary-Maddie Mash Treasurer-Camron Naumovski There will be a meeting during lunch on Wednesday, October 18th for all high school students interested in joining the swim team. PSAT is today for the 10th/11th graders that registered. Grade Cards will go home on Thursday. A reminder that there is NO SCHOOL this Friday, October 20th. Weekend Highlights Our varsity football team defeated Southeastern 49-16 to improve to 6-3. Wyatt Vick placed 3rd and Isaac Detty placed 11th at the SVC Cross Country Meet. The boys’ team placed 3rd overall. Lydia Delong placed 17th and Kaitlyn McDowell placed 21st at the SVC Cross Country Meet. Our Marching Band performed well at the Festival of Bands at Logan High School on Saturday. Boys’ soccer defeated Leesburg Fairfield, 6-2. Tomorrow there will be a BPA meeting for all chapter members during lunch in Ms. Black’s room. There will be series of four ACT test prep workshops held at Zane Trace High School for juniors that will be taking the ACT test in February. There is a meeting for parents of students interested in attending the workshops on Monday, November 6th at 5:30 p.m. in the media center. Mrs. Jami Massie will be running the workshops. 10/6/2023 Announcements -A Pickaway Ross Career and Technology Center Representative will speak to our sophomores this morning at 9 a.m. in the high school gym. - The pep rally will begin at 1 p.m. today in the high school gym. Cheerleaders will be dismissed at 12:45 p.m. to prepare the rally. The rest of the students will be dismissed by PA. -We will be hosting a powderpuff football game on Sunday, November 5th at 5pm on the football field. An email has been sent out by Mrs. Morton to sign up to participate.
