 - ZT FFA Mission

Chapter History

In 1932 the Centralia FFA Chapter was chartered at Centralia High School. This would eventually become the Zane Trace FFA Chapter when the districts of Kingston, Centralia and Adelphi consolidated in 1965. Over the years the Chapter has established a number of long standing traditions including our Annual Sausage Breakfast in February and the Member-Parent Banquet in the spring. Our members have made history by being recognized as one of the top 10 Chapters in the nation in 2021 and by earning numerous state and national level awards in proficiency, star, agriscience and CDE competitions.

Activities

The Zane Trace FFA is involved in a number of activities throughout the year. These include competitions in career development events such as food science, public speaking, livestock judging and biotechnology as well as agriscience fair, world food prize and envirothon contests. Officers conduct monthly meetings for all members with each meeting including a meal and a service or social activity. Travel to the National and State FFA Conventions is planned for members each year and additional educational field trips are included as well.

Community Service

Our FFA Chapter believes strongly in the lines “living to serve” from the FFA Motto. We conduct a number of service projects throughout the year and partner with a number of local organizations to increase our impact. Examples of our service to our community include:

-Beautify for Buck Fifty roadside clean up in April

-Donating no-sew blankets and Sausage Breakfast proceeds to Nationwide Children’s Hospital

-Assembling and donating disaster relief clean up kits for CROP-CWS

-Making and mailing military care boxes

-Serving the Zane Trace and Kingston Alumni banquets

-Raising and donating 40 broiler chickens each fall for the Hallsville Community Food Pantry

-Donating canned produce to local food pantries

-Donating money to support the Ohio FFA Foundation and the Ross County Junior Fair

-Assisting the Veterans of Foreign Wars in placing flags on graves in May
